Romi plays the following sports before;
- Squash
- Badminton
- Ping Pong
- Tennis
As an ADB Retiree and his hobby, a certified Asian Squash Federation squash coach/trainer (ASF Level 1), have conducted training for ADB staff for beginners as requested by ADB Squash Club. He have also played the other sports alternately on other days.
In ADB outside world, he had served the Squash Rackets Association of the Philippines (SRAP) as a treasurer for 18 years but resigned in September 2012.
He was also an instrumental in the incorporation of the Philippine Squash Academy in 2012. He was reelected to the SRAP Board of Trustees in 2015 and was inducted by the then POC President Peping Cojuangco in Wack-Wack Country Club, as shown on the photo below. After a year in the SRAP Board, he resigned in Sept 2016 for a personal reason.
